Above are a selection of antique telescopes by a variety of makers. The telescope by Dudley Adam's is an example of "Adams's New Patent Portable Telescope", Jesse Ramsden was one of the foremost telescope makers of the 18th Century, The large telescope by Dolland is engraved "Day or Night" and the relatively smaller telescope is by the Manchester Optician - J.W. Morgan. The telescope by Adie was made in Liverpool - Britain's second most important city on the 19th Century.
